An unidentified Lincoln Junior High School student was struck by a semi-trailer as he attempted to cross the road at 75th Street and Olympus Drive. The driver of the semi-trailer was attempting to make a left-hand turn. The student suffered serious injuries and was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Trixie is not one to speak ill of someone who has been injured, but distinctly remembers being taught at a young age to 'look both ways before crossing the street.' I hope the young man learns his lesson or at least doesn't try to cross any four-lane roads for at least a couple years.
