I have read the books and liked three out of four of them (they should have put the brakes on 'Breaking Dawn' - I pity the trees that were killed to print that epic failure of a book). They are by no means great literature but they are entertaining and if you keep your expectations low you'll probably like the movie, too.
I stumbled across this parody of the movie on cracked.com and it's too funny not to post.
