The naysayers and bitchers claimed it would hurt business but it seems that theory has gone up in smoke. A full year after the Illinois smoking ban went into affect the Sun-Times reports bars and restaurants are showing a 7% increase over 2007. Casinos say it has hurt them but given the economic picture I have to imagine their business would be down anyway.
