Your next 'hawks goal, brought to you by ClearChannel
Well, it's not really that bad, but in what passes for news these days the Sun-Times reports that the sound system guys at the United Center have taken to playing The Fratellis' "Chelsea Dagger" whenever the Blackhawks score. So, okay, the song is getting more of a workout than a song would have in years past since the 'hawks have extended their season significantly but let's not lose sight of the work that needs to be done to keep playing at a level required to take it to the end.

So, they're using an Amstel Light ad song when the baby Hawks score?
ReplyDeleteInteresting. They could have found a better song.
Yeah, they're trying to be 'edgy' here in Chi-town, trying to get and keep tweeting Facebook freaks in the seats (yeah, they're skewing young) since real fans stayed away in droves due to heinous management for the last 10 years or so...
ReplyDeleteDon't get us wrong; Trixie's hip to the tune (added it to my iPod two years ago) but it's a HOCKEY game, not American Idol...
ReplyDeleteOh, and you MIGHT wanna talk to your boy Piven for this
